Years ago when I first moved to Humboldt County I remember there was a lot of buzz around the community because a film was being shot in the area and celebrities had been spotted around the local communities. It was all very exciting, and I recall wanting to see the film when it was released.
Flash forward, and I no longer live in HumCo, and I had all but forgotten about this film. It popped up on Netflix and I gave it a go. Certainly a different film, and very quirky. Interesting cast, and a fun film to watch if you can get into it. It's not Wes Anderson quirky, but it's not a straight-forward film.
If you've spent any amount of time in Humboldt County it's a fun film because of the easily recognizable locations. I actually stayed at the Eureka Inn (it's called something else in the film) during my interview with the County. It features prominently in the film.
